Reviews are in for Pacific Overtures! We open tomorrow!

Reviews are in for Pacific Overtures and I am speechless, emotional, and filled with gratitude. My heart is overflowing.

"[Spiro] Veloudos and choreographer Micheline Wu have done an elegant if also tongue-in-cheek job of mixing Asian and showbiz styles, just as the music does. Wu, who is trained in Chinese dance, also plays Tamate, Kayama’s tradition-bound, kimono-clad wife, imbuing the unfortunate character with intensity and grace, the latter exemplified by her fluid dance with a fluttering fan." - Carolyn Clay, WBUR

"Choreographer Micheline Wu deserves much credit for the fine work she has done." - Bobby Franklin, Boxing Over Broadway

Although I have been making dances for over half of my life, making dances in this way is a new experience for me and I knew that in its way this would be life altering. I have learned so much about myself, my artistry, and about working collaboratively in this medium. I do not often talk about my beliefs, but in my gratitude I cannot help but mention how I owe everything to the grace and kindness of that which is beyond me.

To my beautiful castmates - Alexander Holden, Carl Hsu, Sam Himashima, Gary Ng, Lisa Yuen, Karina Wen, Elaine Hom, Brandon Milardo, Jeff Song, Kai Chao - who have been willing, gracious, and talented ink for my movement calligraphy: I truly would not have been able to make this journey of surprises without you and I cannot imagine having had anyone else at my side.

Tomorrow we officially open and I have never been so proud of anything I have been a part of creating. Please come and share in this joy.
